How long does the web design take?

It really depends on the features, how many pages, images, whether it's database driven etc. If your site is template based with 10 pages or less the design itself only takes a few days, we are always about 2 to 3 weeks ahead working on projects. So as long as we have the down payment you can expect we start on your project and have it completed within 3 weeks on average, but if it's a much bigger project you can expect it to be a few months even…

How much does it cost?

There are a couple variables to keep in mind. First of all, most of our prices include search engine optimization, full ownership, your html pages are validated and a professional looking site that's easy to navigate. It really depends if you want a custom website or pick one of our web templates to edit to your needs, or take a look at some of our design packages. What do I need to provide?

You will need to provide us the full text, images you would like to use and some ideas to help us understand your business. After all, you understand your business and industry better than we do. All the above will need to be sent to us via email, if you prefer to send documents and photos in the mail, there will be further charges for re-writing or scanning of photos.

How often can I make changes?

During the actual design phase we will show you work in progress so you can recommend changes to your site before we are complete. (This does hold limitations based on how many times you want to make drastic changes.) If you are looking for monthly changes to your site, we have different maintenance plans to fit your needs.

Can I make changes to the site myself?

Unfortunately we longer offer Microsoft FrontPage support; we suggest you pick a maintenance plan which will suit your needs to make updates to your website.

How much content should I put on my site?

The clearer you are about your business the better. Meaning put as much info on your site as you would like but not so much that it's overwhelming. We have a list of questions we will ask to help us understand your goals, then we will provide a list of content we will need from you.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is a specific web site address that you choose and register with an accredited domain registrar such as DirectNic.com. An example would be our domain name which is: "majesticsky.com".

What is a web host?

A web host is a company that provides you with server space for your web site. This includes all of the files associated with your web site, scripts, a database, email system etc. When your web address is typed into a browser, the web host displays the pages for you of your entire site.

How much does it cost?

Well we all know the old cliché "you get what you pay for". It still holds true when you pick a hosting provider. Many people will purchase a plan that costs about $2.95 a month, but this is very limited support and probably does not include much, be sure to read the small print! Here at Majestic Sky, we want you to check around, we offer a lot of extra's for our plans compared to other web hosts. Our plans start at $16.95/month and this all includes the most important elements of hosting which is the storage, bandwidth and our excellent customer support.

What is web storage?

Storage is the available space a host will give you for all your files including images, html files, php files, etc. Typically an average web site will need a minimum of 200MB available space for their site to run.

What is bandwidth?

Bandwidth is the amount of traffic that is allowed to occur between your web site and the rest of the internet. Bandwidth is used via transfers by FTP or most common people viewing your site by using a web browser. The amount of bandwidth a hosting company can provide is determined by their network connections, both internal to their data center and external to the public internet.

How much bandwidth do I need?

Figuring how much bandwidth you need depends on many different factors such as the size of your pages, how many images, and whether or not people will download files from your site. Most all hosting plans have requirements for how much bandwidth used each month. Here at Majestic Sky we like to be sure you are receiving enough bandwidth to not have to worry about it, other companies won't tell you went over on your bandwidth and you will need to pay a ton in overages. We start you off with a minimum of 10GB of bandwidth a month for your online growing business. We will tell you most of our clients use between 1 to 5 GB's of bandwidth a month, so 10GB's included into your plan should be more than enough.

Do I have to sign a 1 year contract?

No, we do not believe in being obligated to stay with a company if you are not happy with their service. Our basic plan does require 1 year to be paid in advance, and if you want to cancel please give us at least 14 days advance notice and we will issue money back for the service you have not yet used. We have never had someone cancel because of "bad service"; we take great pride in that!

I am currently hosting my sites elsewhere and would like to transfer, how can I do this?

It's actually simpler than you think... We will need your FTP info and possibly your registrar information to change over your name servers when the transfer is complete. Simply fill out this form and we can take care of the rest.
